Wondering what people have to say about their experience with Fang Shui Canines? Read some testimonials a few clients have shared:

“Hilary is the very best dog trainer in our area! She has helped turn my stubborn, defiant, headstrong rescue dog into a cooperative dog who is easy to be around. Hilary was offering advice long before I even hired her, and there were moments when her faith in me and belief in my dog Emma were all that kept me going in the training process. We are now training Emma to be a therapy dog, and Hilary knows so much about the whole process. She is a true professional…if she doesn’t know something, she digs in and finds out right away. Her follow-through is amazing. Not only that, but she is kind, compassionate, gentle…Emma LOVES her. I’m so glad to have found her…she’s a gift. You may contact me for more raves.”

separation anxiety and medications “Hilary gave me the confidence and knowledge I needed to help my little rescue dog adjust to my active lifestyle– and my small apartment. Coco now doesn’t jump on guests, goes into her crate willingly, and walks nicely on a leash. She doesn’t tear up my apartment anymore when I’m gone, either!”
— Aly Rush with Coco
running away and prey drive “Hilary worked with Alice when she was a puppy and taught her great manners! I learned how to handle difficult situations and how to be consistent when training. Alice now walks well on a leash, loves greeting strangers, leaves my shoes alone, and plays nicely with other dogs. I would recommend Fang Shui Canines for any training issues you encounter with your dog.”

chewing and biting “Thanks for your patience and wisdom with us–and, oh yeah, with Milo too! He is so good on leash now, leaves objects when we tell him to, isn’t chewing our stuff with a vengeance, and is a whiz at agility–we thank you for helping with that! He’s not the wild dog we once knew. Please stay in touch!”

dog aggression dog reactivity “Hilary has more than an expertise with training–she has an understanding and skill of assessing the dog’s behavioral traits, environment and, more importantly, the interrelationships between dog and guardian. I’ve used her coaching services many times for my own dogs, as well as for consultations with clients’ dogs. Hilary’s love for the dog, combined with her compassion, skill, and intuition, make her an excellent choice for training and/or behavioral consultations. I will continue to utilize her expertise in providing for my clients and my own dogs.”

bad behavior “My 2-year-old Pom was nervous and bit everyone who tried to pet her. She also didn’t listen to anything I said. Jag is now much better since you taught me not to carry her, but let her walk on a leash, and to take things slowly to help her build confidence in her abilities. She and I have a much better bond, and she is much better when she meets someone new! Hope to take some more of your classes.”

fence fighting “Thanks for training Misty to be more confident–we can’t believe how far she’s come from being so fearful. The kids love teaching her games, and Mitchell shows off her tricks to all his little friends! Misty no longer chews up our stuff, which means she can be out of her crate more often. The best thing is, Misty has cut down on her barking to the point where we can trust her outside. Every time she comes in without barking, she gets a treat- just like you taught us!”

crate pooping “Hilary is a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend her, not only because of her gentleness and intuition, but also because she understands the moral complexities of being guardian to dogs in the modern age.”

Hilary has been in my and Moxie’s life since we adopted each other last spring. Hilary graciously met me and my 4-year-old grandson at the Humane Society of Boulder Valley to see if the dog I was considering taking home was a good match. She put Moxie through her paces, and used my grandson to assess if the dog was good around children. In the months that followed, Hilary gently and nonjudgementally taught me how to train my little buddy. It always felt that what Hilary had to say was right on.Each time that Hilary works with Moxie and me, I learn more. Without hesitation, I would recommend Hilary as a qualified, intelligent, and sensitive dog trainer to anyone who wants to develop a good relationship with their pet.
